We would like to invite you to participate in a special event taking place Friday, June 28 at 2 pm EST. ProPublica spent a number of weeks with the Chicago Workers Collaborative, and other organizations, to investigate the temporary staffing industry for their article “The Expendables: How the Temps Who Power Corporate Giants Are Getting Crushed“. ProPublica will host a panel to discuss the temp industry and the growing shift by employers to use temp workers instead of full time direct hires, and the impact that this having on workers and the communities they live in.
The panel will consist of ProPublica reporter Michael Grabell, Sociologist George Gonos of SUNY Potsdam, an expert on the temp industry, and Leone Jose Bicchieri, CWC.
