State agencies crack down on local temp worker abuse

The Department of Labor has cracked down on wage issues in South Jersey in the last two years. In 2012, Reilly’s department conducted 37 investigations in South Jersey under this initiative and recovered $548,000 in back wages for more than 1,200 workers. So far in fiscal year 2013, it has doubled its efforts with 50 investigations, two in Burlington County, resulting in $774,000 being restored to more than 2,800 workers.
